For the price we paid, we got great value. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the beds were comfortable. The location was fantastic for outdoor activities, with plenty of walking, cycling, and climbing options right outside the door. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the bar had a good selection of beers with friendly and knowledgeable bar staff.
Food for breakfast could have been better with more variety or options.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! the location was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning scenery all around. Our room was spacious and quiet, providing a peaceful retreat after a long day of hiking. the staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our stay. the breakfasts were delicious and gave us the energy we needed for our outdoor adventures. We also loved the option to enjoy a cold pint and a meal at the adjoining pub. a wonderful experience!
That our room wasn't serviced unless specifically requested, but this was understandable considering our tidy nature and the initial cleanliness upon arrival.

it was remote in the Lake District, the scenery was beautiful and the opportunity to walk or trip by car were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. the food was very good in both the bar and restaurant.
Not the fault of the hotel but mobile phone connections were impossible and internet was not easy but the staff were very helpful when I needed to connect. Hotel phone charges were not excessive.

Location, friendly staff, geared up to needs of walkers
Furnishings in room a bit dated. Unusual range of tv channels (BBCLondon?!). Range of vegetables with dinner bit disappointing

Beautiful location at the foot of the mountains, perfect for exploring the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The room we stayed in was absolutely stunning, with amazing views and spacious accommodations. The hotel also had a lovely garden where we could relax and enjoy a delicious meal.
While the hotel itself was fantastic, the bar area was a bit disappointing. It wasn't very comfortable to sit in and was often quite quiet.

I recently stayed at New Dungeon Ghyll in the beautiful Langdale Valley. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Geoff who provided great advice. The hotel itself is stunning, with cozy rooms and beautiful views of the gardens. The on-site bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere, and I loved that they welcomed wet and cold walkers and their dogs. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were accommodating. The hotel also had a drying room, which was a bonus for exploring the rainy Lakes. Highly recommended!
100% Recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a wonderful setting with the mountains of Langdale all around. Although the valley is busy, the hotel itself was peaceful and tranquil. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good (evening bar food and breakfast - didn't try the restaurant)

Fantastic place! Set in beautiful scenery - an excellent base for walkers and countryside lovers. The staff are so nice, friendly and welcoming and the rooms are really clean, and modern with lovely comfortable beds too- the superior room was fabulous with beautiful views and had a lovely en-suite shower room. The breakfasts were massive and set us up for a good day walking on the fells. I would highly recommend this hotel! Have stayed several times and each time cannot fault it! Love it!

A Wonderful Stay
After a long day hiking on The Cumbrian Way, I arrived at a wonderful location. The restaurant served an excellent meal, with deliciously cooked and nicely presented dishes. The beautiful room had a few minor shortcomings, but overall, it was comfortable and clean.
Although the breakfast could be improved, with a small portion of butter and bacon, the overall experience was still enjoyable. Comparing it to other places I've stayed along the Cumbrian Way, it was not quite as perfect, but with a few small adjustments, it could have been an exceptional stay.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the options on the restaurant menu - 2 course, 3 course or 4/5 course - and the opportunity to take a bar meal if preferred. the hotel itself was very welcoming and the many log fires were an extremely attractive feature.
